I was just curious if anyone had an opinon about the new branding of Northwest Florida as "The Beach" instead of being called, the Emerald Coast?  I am a marketing professional in the area and wonder, as travelers if you feel like branding our entire region under one name encourages you to visit our area and/or gives you a better understanding of who we are?

If you have never visited our area before, you will be shocked to find Beaches of this quality in the mainland United States.  Our sand is the color of table sugar and is a soft, fine powder.  Growing up in Texas, I was accustomed to the greenish waters of Galveston which are so murky that you can not see your feet even in six inches of water.  Living in Destin is such a different experience, you can see schools of fish in the water and it is so clean and clear that you can see five feet down on a clear day.

 Either way, I'd really like some feedback from anyone who has been to the area or is considering coming down.
