Worst airport in the world: Heathrow, UK
Best airport in the world: Changi, Singapore

Heathrow cannot seriously be

Heathrow cannot seriously be considered the worst airport in the world. It may be devoid of any decent shops or restaurants, but try Vienna Schwechat for bizarre organization; I've heard that it is similar at other Austrian Airports, but there is no passport control until the individual gates, resulting in huge, confused, tangled queues that make everyone late for the plane...

Then you have airports with literally nothing except a runway, such as Abu Simbel in southern Egypt; although I was not repulsed by the small airport, I find it difficult to believe that Heathrow, with all its facilities, can seriously be considered worse than a shack and a strip of tarmac.

If its the look and feel of the airport that matters to you, don't go to Tallinn; a concrete box home to the grumpiest and least friendly passport control staff I have ever met.

And then we have Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson, an airport that proves that being the world's busiest is not something to boast about.

My personal favourite airports would probably have to be Albuquerque Sunport in New Mexico, and Beijing Capital; although both seemed eerily deserted considering their immense size.

Hi All

Just thought I would add a comment so we can get back to discussing travel rather than being bombarded with adverts in the 'In the Forum' Section.

My comment -

In my opinion - although Marrakech Airport has amazing architecture - it was the most badly organised - queued 2 hours just to get through passport control.

Most chaotic - Heathrow - too many people for its size.

Liverpool airport is a disgrace. they make it very difficult to get through passport control just to make you pay to get through it via the express lane. had to put up with this every week for months! worst in britain for sure. Hell on earth!

Heathrow has always been

Heathrow has always been quiet in my experience, it's Gatwick which seems always overcrowded.

Airports

Slovenia Llubijana (or however you spell it) has got to be the world's most boring airport! It consists of a single shop/cafe and a runway!

Heathrow

Heathrow is great now if you depart or arrive at Terminal 5, The rest of the airport is catching up too with gradual refurbishments.
The worst airport by far is Charles de Gaulle. On my last visit I was advised by a friend to go entirely the opposite way to the directions signposted for the rail stations after arrival. Sure enough the station was only a a few yards away in the opposite direction. The whole place is disjointed.
My favourite airports are Hong Kong, Beijing & the new Emirates terminal in Dubai.
