EU COUNTRY PASSPORT STAMPS

If i travel within Schengen country by flight,
example: i take flight exit from Rome and enter LISBON,will the ITALY and PORTUGAL immigration officials stamp my passport?I knew that if i travel by car or train across the border within this 2 countries, the immigration officials do not stamp the passport, right?

Tq,hopefully u can answer my question!

Bye

passport stamps

Sadly, they do not stamp passports within the schengen countries anymore. There is no passport control at all. The upside of this is there are also no waiting lines after you arrive. Doesn't matter if you drive, fly, take a boat or walk. There is simply no border checks- except for when they suspect you are smuggling, but then, you would never see them coming

TQ

Thanks to u Mr.Panorama :-)

I checked from other travel forum last few day, somebody told me if take flight the immigration officer will stamp the passport but also few persons said they don't stamp,is really confusing me!

And somebody also said if ask for the stamp, the officer will stamp it also, right?

I knew u from Barcelona, this city is my second stop of my next year europe trip,i'll enter to Rome and buy a low cost airfare to Barcelona, after this to Madrid and Lisbon.

Pls add me!

Tq!

Sorry no stamp

I just came back from an European tour last month, where I have been in France, Italy, Germany, Spain and even Switzerland, which is not a shengen country. In all the coutries (except Switzerland) I have been, all imigration control has been removed, there is no more immigration officier. There is still custum but you rarely see any custum officer.
Even in Switzerland where I have been arrested in the border for a control as my American friend was born in Iran and myself holding a French passport but born in Afgh after a real Swiss control :o), they let us go without stamping our passport.

Passport Control

It's a complicated issue, but here we go: Under normal circumstances - that is, if no special security measures are in place - there definitely is no immigration control when you travel between Schengen-countries. You WILL however, have to go through immigration if travelling into or out of the Schengen countries, even if into or out of other EU countries, such as the UK and most eastern European countries. It doesn't matter, what kind of transportation you use. If you do go through immigration, e.g. coming from the UK, they will normally refuse to stamp your passport, if you are holding a passport of an EU-country. Some countries, however, seem to not mind stamping your passport by request - it's up to the discretion of the involved immigration officer. In NL, UK and F, I have been stamped and been refused a stamp on a German passport. Finnland and Estonia seem to be liberal on stamping EU passports, with Estonia already using the Schengen style stamp, though not yet having ratified the treaty, fully. As of JAN 1st 2008 most EU-countries will be Schengen-countries, and even Switzerland is bound to ratify the treaty. Norway and Iceland are Schengen-countries as well, even though they both aren't in the EU, so you have to know your red-tape!
