I recently visited Laos for the second time and was fortunate enough to be there for two festivals. I have placed slideshows on my personal website for those who may be interested.
Pii Mai is the Laos New Year festival which involves copious amounts of water, loud music, booze and the odd bit of cross dressing. No one is safe from a potential drenching. I was in Vientiane for this years festivities.
Since I've been back in New Zealand I've been going through my old travel diaries and albums and have accordingly added my first Thailand trip to my website, Travels in Asia It was back in 1997 which is some time ago now, but may still be of interest. I took a one month trip taking in Bangkok, ayuthaya, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Chiang Mai Tha Thon and Chiang Rai.
I've recently updated my Cambodia travelogues with more pictures from the temples at Angkor. Check it out on Travels in Asia
Also travelogues from China, Taiwan, Tibet, Vietnam, Laos, The Philippines etc.
I also maintain a site called Insanity We Trust" This is a collection of interesting items from the world of the arts internet and current affairs.
Good to see passportstamp.com up and running again.
I've just updated my own site and invite members to check it out. Since moving to Taiwan in 1999 I have travelled extensively in the region. Clearly there's a lot of Taiwan content but also travelogues from Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, The Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and others. Follow the link below.
It's a work in progress so let me know if there are any problems and if you have any travel related questions I'm happy to help out if I can.
